Generally speaking, eyebrow threading has no side effects. Although in some cases, it may cause temporary redness or inflammation of the skin that recedes with time. It is good to take care of your skin for few days after a threading session. Below are some threading aftercare tips that you may consider to take good care of your skin.
You may use ice cubes to soothe those areas of the skin where some redness or inflammation of the skin is observed.
You may also use a cold compress just after your threading is done. It protects the skin tissues by slowing down the metabolic activity, thereby decreasing the swelling around the eyebrows.
Spritz the area around the eyebrows with rose water. The anti-inflammatory properties of rose water help reduce the
irritation caused due to threading. You can spritz after regular intervals until you no longer feel the irritation or discomfort in the skin.
You may also use any Aloe Vera cream or moisturizer as it has anti-inflammatory properties and is suitable for the skin. It also acts as a natural coolant and soothes your skin. You may apply the cream multiple times at home.
Tea Tree Oil is also a good option, especially if you don’t want to use any cream or spritz. It is a fantastic remedy for any irritation or inflammation in the skin. It soothes your skin and promotes skin healing.
Keep your skin hydrated by using a good moisturizer throughout the day. Also, make sure the moisturizer you use does not contain any alcohol, perfume, or other harsh chemicals that may worsen the situation.
- Don’t Exfoliate Your Skin
Some people are into a regular skincare routine where they exfoliate their skin regularly. Exfoliation removes dead cells from the outer layers of the skin. However, it is highly recommended not to exfoliate your skin for at least 24 hours after an eyebrow threading session.
Some people are allergic to sun rays. They feel irritation or itchiness in their skin when exposed to sun rays. Such people should remain indoors for 1-2 days after threading to avoid rashes and skin redness.
If you do not use any sunscreen, we suggest you use it for at least a few days after the threading. This will protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Any sunscreen with SPF 30 or more can be used to avoid irritation or discomfort due to UV rays.
